Customer onboarding learning path

Customer onboarding learning path

project

Challenge:

With expanding product offerings and a growing user base, a healthcare technology company needed an onboarding program that could support multiple personas (e.g., practice managers, clinical staff) without overwhelming new users. The onboarding experience also had to reduce early support burdens while driving confident, timely platform adoption.

Solution:

I led the end-to-end design of a modular onboarding program that combined product education with workflow relevance. Each learning pathway featured a mix of videos, scenario-based walkthroughs, interactive knowledge checks, and downloadable job aids tailored to specific user roles and needs. I developed standardized templates and design guidelines to ensure consistency across modules and implemented a scalable QA review workflow to streamline content updates and approvals.

To measure impact and retention, I embedded pre- and post-assessments aligned to key objectives. I also integrated Credly digital badging as a way to motivate learners and verify completion, enabling practices to track staff readiness.

My Role:

I owned the instructional design lifecycle, including:

  • Conducting a content audit and learner needs analysis

  • Developing scripts and storyboards for each module

  • Designing visuals and assets using brand-aligned templates

  • Publishing SCORM content to the LMS and coordinating content delivery

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with product, clinical, and field support teams to ensure content accuracy and real-world relevance

Tools & Technologies:

  • Authoring: Articulate Rise, Vyond, Descript, Canva

  • LMS/Delivery: Thought Industries, SCORM, in-app platforms (e.g., Pendo), Credly

  • Collaboration: Slack, Monday.com, Miro

  • Evaluation: LMS dashboards, completion/retention metrics

Impact:

  • Successfully onboarded 800+ users across 300+ practices

  • Reduced onboarding-related support tickets by shifting learning earlier in the customer journey

  • Increased feature engagement by 20%, based on analytics tied to in-app actions

  • Created a reusable, scalable onboarding framework that has been leveraged for future product rollouts and updates

Recruiter training course

Recruiter training course

project

Challenge:

Recruiters in the technology industry can struggle to effectively screen candidates due to limited understanding of technical roles, industry jargon, and core workflows like agile development. The client provided a dense 17-page script but needed a learning solution that would be modular, accessible, and practical for day-to-day recruiting tasks.

Solution

I transformed the raw script into a polished, recruiter-friendly course consisting of 13 concise lessons. Each lesson tackled a single technical concept or industry workflow, supported by scenario-based instructional videos, microlearning interactions, and downloadable job aids.

To ensure accessibility and retention, I applied adult learning principles, including chunking content, layering multiple modalities (visual, audio, and text), and grounding instruction in real-world use cases. Scenario videos helped contextualize abstract concepts like agile development, while job aids served as quick-reference tools to reinforce learning on the job.

My Role:

I owned the full instructional design lifecycle, from needs analysis and content restructuring to scripting, multimedia design, and LMS configuration. I collaborated with the client to ensure the tone, terminology, and visual style aligned with their brand and audience.

Tools & Technologies:

  • Authoring: Articulate Rise, Vyond, Canva

  • Media & Visuals: Descript (for audio), custom iconography and visual layouts

  • Collaboration: Google Docs, Google Meet, SME interviews

Impact:

  • Delivered a streamlined, engaging course for new and seasoned tech recruiters

  • Created reusable learning assets that could be repurposed for onboarding or performance support

  • Positioned the client to expand the course into a full certification or learning path in the future

Instructional video design

Instructional video design

projectS

Challenge:

Clients often need to train users quickly, whether it's onboarding them to evolving product features or helping non-technical teams understand complex systems. In one project, the focus was on supporting software adoption in a fast-paced healthcare environment. In another, the goal was to demystify agile development and technical roles for a recruiter audience with limited tech experience. The challenge was to make complex, unfamiliar concepts easy to grasp and to deliver training at scale.

Solution

I developed a variety of short-form instructional videos that paired strong scripting with visual clarity, designed to fit seamlessly into self-paced learning. At a healthcare technology company, I focused on product walkthroughs, animated explainers, and feature updates. For the recruiter course, I created scenario-based videos that made abstract tech concepts feel relevant and concrete, helping recruiters better screen candidates.

In both cases, I applied best practices in video learning design: chunking information, layering visuals with narration, and aligning content with learner goals.

My Role

I owned the full video development lifecycle:

  • Conducted needs analysis and outlined content goals

  • Scripted and storyboarded scenes

  • Captured screens, created animations, edited footage, and recorded voiceovers

  • Collaborated with product managers, field teams, and clinical SMEs to validate accuracy and tone

Tools & Technologies:

  • Creation: Camtasia, Vyond, Descript, Canva, SnagIt

  • Delivery: Thought Industries LMS, Wistia, Articulate Rise

  • Collaboration: Slack, Google Meet, Monday.com

Impact:

  • Supported onboarding and upskilling for users through scalable video learning

  • Reduced support volume by proactively addressing common challenges through video

  • Increased recruiter understanding of technical roles

  • Created reusable assets that continue to support just-in-time learning across projects

Product documentation & user education

projectS

Challenge:

I often work with brand-new tools, sometimes before internal documentation exists, and am often tasked with producing the first user-facing materials that would shape how clinicians and administrators interacted with technical platforms.

Solution

I specialize in translating complex workflows and system behaviors into structured, user-friendly documentation. My approach blends instructional design with technical writing principles to support both learning and application. When supporting new or undocumented products, I proactively upskill through hands-on exploration, review of internal resources, and direct collaboration with product managers, field teams, and clinical SMEs.

Deliverables have included standalone guides, embedded course documentation, and support content integrated with walkthrough videos or learning modules. I write using consistent style and formatting conventions, inclusive and accessible language, and modular structures that make content searchable and self-service ready.

My Role

I’ve led the end-to-end creation of technical content: identifying documentation needs, interviewing SMEs, synthesizing workflows, and writing guides that are accurate, accessible, and aligned with user needs. I’ve often been the first to document emerging features, making my work the first point of reference for both internal teams and customers.

Tools & Technologies:

  • Documentation tool: ZenDesk, Google Docs, Thought Industries

  • Visual design tools: Canva, SnagIt

  • Writing style: Followed technical writing documentation rules as set forth by Google as well as following inclusive and accessible language standards.

Impact:

  • Created documentation for new features used by thousands of clinical and administrative users

  • Reduced support tickets through searchable, modular content

  • Enabled scalable onboarding by embedding documentation directly into LMS and Help Center workflows

  • Established consistent documentation voice and structure across product lines
